APR FC were Crowned East Africa Community (EAC) Defence Forces Sports and Cultural week Champion after beating UPDF FC at Amahoro national stadium yesterday.

APR were impressive from the kick-off, but their marksmen were goal shy even at times when they had a yawning net. All four goals were produced in first half scored by Ndayisenga Fuadi in the 5th minute.

Haruna N. scored two gaols in the 24th minute and 35th minute of first half.

Before they could think what had hit them, the visitors were shocked again in the final minute of the first half when Bokota Labama slotted in a winning goal off a cross by Elias Ntaganda a.k.a Umukoranabushake.

Many people turned up for the match and among the present were Chief of staffs of all five countries (Rwanda, Burundi, Kenya , Uganda and Tanzania).

The aim for the sports week was the moulding of an East African soldier and a unified territorial defence system for the EAC partner states (Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda and Burundi).
